Greg comes to visit John Tyler

John Tyler met Greg today and recieved a special gift... a little flight suit (complete with aviator glasses) and he can't wait to grow into it. Greg was in California from Michigan for a wedding in L.A and had some time to visit friends in Northern California too.
Something tells us that Greg won't be out of California long, there are too many people here missing him... of course the cold Michigan winters aren't helping the matter either.

John T visits the Harpers in St. Louis

John Tyler met a lot of new family this weekend but few were as interested in him as Alexandra Rose. She took to holding him, watching over him in the bassinet, and making sure the pacifier stayed in so that he wouldn't start fussing. Uncle Tim demonstrated how to "work the gas out" and aunt Shelley can swaddle with the best of them. We had the pleasure of going to one of Ethan's soccer games and Andrew, well John T. is a little to small to wrestle with yet, but don't worry Andrew it won't be too long...

John R graduates from College!

You'd better believe it. John Russell is a college graduate!!! Congratulations! All Johns are very proud. We had a great weekend and would especially like to thank the waitresses at Johnny's on 10th and Russell. If you're in St. Louis we highly recommend checking it out... oh yeah the food was good too.
But seriously, meeting Sara's parents Scott and Linda Lewis, catching up with grandma, Kathy, Diane, Theresa, John and Jayne was a lot of fun. We hope to visit with everyone again soon.
John and Sara will be traveling to Europe the first week in April and moving to either N.Y. or CA, depeding on Sara's Law School admission notifications. John T is currently conducting covert operations which he hopes will make it possible for her to attend Stanford. Wherever they find themselves in August we wish them all the best and look forward to many more celebrations!

John T. @ His First Store Check at THD Santa Clara

It's Saturday night and what else is there to do but travel to one of the local Home Depot stores for a store check. The Santa Clara store's Harper brush bay looked full but to the trained eye it had some broom arms out of place and a number of SKUs needed to be restocked. Did I hear someone say "Store service needed"?

John T. Meets Grandpa Barry

John Tyler met Grandpa Barry and attended a Family Business seminar at the University of the Pacific in Stockton where Bill and Barry discussed the successes and dificulties of the Harper Family Business, Harper Brush Works. John T. slept most of the time but did wake up for a couple of feedings before the day was over.

It is always exciting to hear about the history of Harper Brush Works and to spend time with family learning about those who have come before us.

John T. is looking forward to meeting the rest of the family soon.

Kody Wants to Help!!!

When John T. first came home from the hospital Kody wasn't sure what to think and when John T would cry Kody would get interested and want to see what the fuss was all about. Now Kody's a bit more used to the crying and is more into sniffing John T. Sometimes you would think he's interested in helping or at least getting petted in between some of the burping and diaper changes. So far it looks like Kody and John T. will be good friends. Once John T. is able to pet him things are sure to get better for Kody.

Grandma Jan Comes to Visit

Grandma Jan is visiting from Nebraska and will be here from May 6th to May 13th. It sure has been nice to have the help of experienced grandmothers, first grandma Joyce and now grandma Jan.

John T has been out visiting people too. On Friday he went to see the Dr. at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital and found out that he's up past his birth weight and weighed in at 7 lbs, 10oz. After the Dr. visit we went to Kristen's job site and said hello to all the people there. Everyone was excited to see him and have the opportunity to hold him for a while. He was good for the first half of the visit and then got hungry the second half and took to crying. Not much you can do for a hungry baby short of feeding him so we came back home.

John T. Visits EAKDL

After John T's first Dr. visit since coming home from the hospital, we went to visit everyone at the EAKDL office in San Jose. The votes are in and he is Cute and Little! If he could speak in his defense he would tell you that he weighed a LOT more before the circumcision, but this blog's not for jokes.
We're looking forward to bringing him in again soon, so if you missed him this time you're not out of luck.

Grandma Sharon is great with kids.
To view all of the photos from our visit go to EAKDL Photos. I managed to get Barbar Jo in two of them and I think she would not have appreciated it if I posted them all right to the Blog. ; )
